EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy

EMDR is a powerful, effective, and safe method for alleviating the long-term psychological impact of traumatic experiences. EMDR uses something called bilateral stimulation to help the brain resume its natural healing process. If our brains do not effectively process disturbing events, the memories can get “stuck” maladaptively in our brains, resulting in overwhelm, anxiety, depression, and other various symptoms.

By using bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) while processing the stressful event, the brain’s normal healing process resume and the stress response is resolved.

Many studies and research have been completed on this approach, finding it to be safe and effective when administered by trained professionals.
